Tonya Williams Obituary

Tonya Delana Williams was born on July 24,1967 to the late Clarence Williams and Patricia Williams of Newark, New Jersey. Tonya departed this life on June 7, 2020. To so many it has come as a great shock to learn of the passing of Tonya, more affectionately known as Lannie. Lannie was a sweet, kind person who loved her family, and we will miss her dearly.

Tonya always strived to improve herself academically. In 1985, she received her diploma from Central High School of Newark, New Jersey. Shortly thereafter she joined the US Army Reserves. In 1990 she met her husband Fahiem Naseem (Franklin Bryant) while they both attended Essex County College of Newark, they joined hands in matrimony April 29,1996 in the state of Virginia and from this union was born three children, Shyquan, Daquasiy, and Faima.

In 1991 Tonya completed a laboratory technician training program sponsored by Bristol Myers- Squibb and from that program she acquired employment. Tonya relocated to the state of Virginia where she continued her education and received her nursing degree in licensed practical nursing from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital school of practical nursing in which she
graduated top of her class. Tonya's latest accomplishment would be receiving her BA degree from Rutgers University of Newark, New Jersey. "Education was key to Tonya".

Tonya was a loving, caring mother who thought the world of her children, she would always go above and beyond to do all she could for them as well as for others. She shared a special bond with her siblings and was always grateful for the time they took out for her. Lannie also shared a special relationship with her late cousin Cora, and her cousin Malik.

She leaves to celebrate her life and will be greatly missed by her mother Patricia Williams, her husband Fahiem Naseem, children Shyquan, Daquasiy,Faima, and two brothers Baseem, and Eric Williams a sister Denise Wooten, her mother in law Arlaine Bryant, two brother in laws Jaleel and Cliff, three sister in laws, Cynthia, Faith, and Leticia, one step daughter Yahmina Bryant, and two step-granddaughters Demaya, and Amelia, two aunts, Charlotte McLaurin, and Ann Lance, three great aunts, Laura Baker, Myrna Brown, and Margaret Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tonya, we loved you and we will miss you in a mighty way, but God loved you best. Respectfully and affectionately submitted the family.
