Musliminah Tahisa Rashid

Muslimah Tahisa Rashid, born to Leola Radcliff Spotswood and the late       Edward Spotswood.  Born in Newark, NJ and attended school and graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island.

She met the love of her life and married Dennis Tariq Rashid in 1984, from that union came her son Nasir Rashid.

Tahisa was a fun and loving person to know.  Tahisa was our strength and our peace and our sheeor! Tahisa enjoyed family fun.  She enjoyed music and table games like TROUBLE and UNO.  Tahisa was an expert interior decorator.  The decorum of her home was the legacy that she leaves for everyone to still enjoy.

She worked as a housing Occupancy Specialist for Trenton Housing Authority for many years.

Tahisa also worked for NJHMA known as New Jersey Mortgage Financing Agency.  Tahisa was very instrumental in helping many people get mortgages to purchase their first home.

Tahisa leaves her devoted husband of 36 years and her beloved son Nasir to cherish her memory and a huge devoted family.  Her sister Leola, brother Andre (Lisa), Terrance (Cynthia), Joey (Margie Alicia) Spotswood. Her best friends Hamid and Latifah Saleem, Gloria Anderson, Tyrone McMath, Cindy Mitchell, Yadira Simmons and Toni Allen. And a host of nieces, nephews great and great nieces and nephews and cousins and other relatives and friends.  She was loved by many.

Tahisa is predeceased by her dad James Edward Spotswood, Mother in Law Idell Harris, Denise, Patrice, Vernez Spotswood and her brothers, James Jr, Darryl and Gerald Spotswood, Monte and Steward Hockaday.
