Kimberly S. Rhodes, affectionately known as Kim, was born on November 21, 1961, in Trenton, New Jersey. Kim was a life-long resident of Trenton and formerly worked for Mercer County Community College as an Administrator. She loved her children and especially her grandchildren. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends where she was able to always have fun and get in a few good laughs. She loved to cook and bake, especially her cakes and pies. Her grandkids will always remember her telling them “I’ll bust you to the white meat” and to tell that to anyone who messes with them. She had nicknames for all her grands. She passed on June 21, 2021, at the age of 59.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Andrea Bland; husband Perry Rhodes; sister Deborah Bland; father David Bland, Jr and Leon Thomas Jr. Maternal grandparents Charles B. Matlock Sr. and Eva Mae Matlock Paternal grandparents David Bland Sr and Fannie Belle Bland.
Kim is survived by her son, Yan Quai Bland (Ama) and Perry Rhodes Jr. (Keyera); Mother Charlene Bland Thomas; grandchildren: Taj Edwards, Yan Quai Edwards, Zy’airah Edwards, D’Iavion Fletcher, Gavin Bland, Ayana Bland, Iyla' Reid and A’ziyah Rhodes; great-grandchildren: Kaylen, Kyan, and Amarii; brothers: Kirk, Andre, Juan, Carmen (Millicent), Eric, Jamil (LeCoya) Leon Scott Jr (China). and Clifford Geddis. Sisters Leslie Jones, Victoria Bland, and Linda Paige. Sister-in-law Venus Rhodes and a special friend John Pullen and living Uncle Albert Matlock Sr. Caregiver Patricia White. Host of aunts, uncles, cousins nieces, nephews, and extended family.
