Donald has earned his angel wings. He answered the call on Tuesday, November 30, 2020 in Trenton, NJ and took his final flight home to be with the Lord. As a result, our hearts are less bright but we know the Heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy and peace and laughter.
He was educated in Trenton Public schools and graduated and Trenton Central High School. After high school Donald entered the United States Navy , he served our country between 1967-1968. After his service ended Donald worked at New Jersey Department of Corrections City of Trenton, Rowan Towers, One Stop Candy Stop (Wayne Avenue), Security Officer, cab driver, UPI. Reading the Bible was truly Donald’s passion in life.
Donald’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his wife Monica, sons Donald, Jr. (Vanessa) and Chris English (Sharon), Nicole English, Kyle Matlock(Tanji), Malcolm Bland, Jamie Owens, Doneisha Matlock, Derrick and Dashawn Smith, his brothers Gerald Matlock (Sanndra) and Robert Matlock (Deborah). His sisters Charlene Bland, Loleta Matlock, Paula Terry (Marion) and Ethel Whetstone (Leroy). His sisters – law, Tonya Smith (Kelbert), Angela Smith (Horace) and Emily Mitchell- Crawley (Rob). A special brother in-law Ira Brittingham. Donald was survived by a host of Grand Children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his parents Charles B Matlock, Sr and Eva Mae Matlock, his brother Charles B. Matlock, Jr. and his sister Marianne Matlock-Brittingham.
