Ronald Young also know as Rajahn Salaam was born August 11, 1947 in Newark, NJ to the late Gus and Betty Young.

Rajahn received his education in Newark at Central High School.  Rajahn then became a long time employee of Saint Michaels Medical Center for many years.  In his later year he retired from Newark International Airport then worked for Irvington Board of Education as a crossing guard.

Rajahn was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Rajahn had a love of salsa dancing and was one of the best. Rajahn was nick-named “Boogie” by the city of Newark.  He had the biggest heart and was always there to help.  Rajahn dressed sharp and had the most addictive laugh! Rajahan was so funny and knew how to make you smile.  He will surely be missed.
