Linda Turner was born, August 6, 1954 to the late Edward Lee Turner and Carrie Frances Turner, in Panama City, Florida. She attended Newark Public Schools and was foremost of her four siblings academically. Linda was the Activist of the family. She attended meetings at The Spirit House, lead by Amiri Baraka. She was known for speaking her mind and at times unfiltered. She also, played a role in the changing the name of South Side High School to Malcolm X Shabazz High School. She loved reading, writing and reciting poetry. Her interest in Journalism lead her to attend Seton Hall University. Growing up Linda loved competing in Volley Ball and Table Tennis. She was a very generous person, always willing to share whatever she had. Linda worked briefly at Bamberger Department Store and Prudential Insurance Company. She was preceded by her brothers: James Edward Turner. Jr , Charles Dean Turner, and Nephew Michael Charles Turner.
