Kirk Lamont Bland died on July 30, 2024 at the Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell NJ after a short illness. He was born on November 15, 1961 in Trenton NJ. He was a lifelong resident of Trenton and formerly employed by the City of Trenton. He made his living in real estate and general contracting.
Kirk relished working and collaborating with others, traveling, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. Even with his busy schedule, Kirk would always make time to help others. On a lighter note, he was a constant source of stories, and laughter, someone to talk to, someone you could rely upon, someone always making his presence known, and most of all, if there was money to be made, he would find a way to make it!
He was proceeded in death by his fathers, David Bland Jr. and Leon Thomas Jr.; his sisters, Deborah Bland and Kimberly Rhodes; his brother Juan Bland; his niece, Andrea Bland; great nephew, Yan’Quai Edward’s. Maternal grandparents: Charles B Matlock Sr. and Eva Mae Matlock Paternal grandparents: David Bland Sr. and Fannie Bell Bland Aunts: Marianne Brittingham and Fannie Mae Strickland. Uncles: Charles Matlock, Robert Matlock, Donald Matlock, and Charles Bland
He is survived by his children, Tanyel Leonard, Rahean Leonard, Kaembraille Young, and Nasir Bland; grandchildren, Brooklyn McKinney, Jamia Leonard, Kanai Young, Shakur McKinney and Rahjuan McKinney. Kirk is also survived by Charlene Bland Thomas his mother and his brothers Andre, Carmen, Eric, Jamil Bland, Leon Scott Jr., and Clifford Geddis; his sister Leslie Jones and a host of other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and his closest friends.
He also leaves behind the cherished and fond memories of his God daughter Ebony Wiggins.
