Karim Muhammad

June 6, 1942 — March 10, 2026

          Karim Muhammad was born June 6,1942 to the late James Faulkner Sr. and Pearl Jenkins Faulkner, in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Newark Public Schools. He also attended Glassboro State College and Thomas Edison College. His major was law; he had a true passion for legal rights of humanity. Upon accepting Islam over (50) years ago he legally changed his birth name to Karim Muhammad.

           He was employed with the City of Trenton, New Jersey, State of New Jersey Department of Juvenile. He enjoyed mentoring the youth. He took every opportunity to have a teachable moment. He took pride in the completion of his many home projects. He loved to converse and  philosophy about current events and modern-day politics, he was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed home-cooked meals and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing his drums. He was thoughtful of others, a loving person. And most of all he represented what it meant to be a Muslim man. 

          He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife over fifty years, Zakiyyah, his children, Tryone Faulkner, Kevin Notis (preceded in death) Khadijah Muhammad, Sidiq Muhammad, Jalal (Karol) Muhammad, grandchildren, Danielle Notis, Atiya, Qumora, Kadeem, Ayesha, Naimah and Jabria, Four (4) great grandchildren, Step brother Samad Johnson, uncle and aunt, Herbert and Vivian Phipps and a host of cousins and other relatives.
