Charles Dean Turner, the son of Carrie Frances Turner and the late Edward Lee Turner, was born on August 31, 1953 in Panama City, Florida.
Charles received his early education in the public school system of Chipley, Florida. After relocating to Newark, New Jersey with his family, Charles attended Miller Street School and Shabazz High School, both in Newark. After graduating high school, Charles was employed by the Newark Star Ledger. Later he relocated to New York City where he found employment in the garment district.
Charles enjoyed sports, especially football and basketball and he took pleasure in singing for his sisters and brothers.
Charles was preceded in death by: his father, Edward Lee Turner and his son, Michael Charles Turner.
Charles leaves to cherish precious memories: his special friend, Jean Robinson and extended family; his little buddies, Aiden and Ethan; his mother, Carrie F. Turner of Irvington, New Jersey, three brothers, James Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada, Aqeel Mateen (Zarifah) of South Orange, New Jersey and Willie Turner of West Palm Beach, Florida ; two sisters, Linda Turner of East Orange, New Jersey and Diane Dieumercy (Louis) of Orange, New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
