Arthur Majid Dent

Arthur “Majid” Dent, a loving father, brother, and son was born to Nannie Ann and Hubert Dent on October 18, 1952. He worked in the Essex County Board of Education as a Black Seal Technician for over thirty years until retiring in 2019. He proudly served his country as a young man in the Air Force and was stationed all over the world. Arthur was a joy to be around and always shared knowledge and wisdom with the people he encountered. Arthur married Marion Dent of Newark NJ, whom he loved although they separated and eventually divorced. Arthur shared a special bond with his brother Lawrence Dent and nephew Masud Mustafa who await him in paradise. Arthur is survived by his eldest son Clifford Lawrence, daughter-in-law SchrRon Lawrence, daughter Monice Reed, son-in-law Steven Reed, youngest son Quaseem Dent, daughter-in-law LaTiffane Dent, his loving sister Diane Jones, brother-in-law Richard Jones, his niece: Dalya Washington, nephews: Muadth Mustafa and Khaliq Jones, great-niece Skyla Washington and great-nephew Nasir Brothers, grandkids: Shafiq Lawrence, Sade Bentley, Nasir Dent, granddaughter inlaw An-Nisa Dent, Khalid Reed, Zafina Dent, Kylif Lawrence, and Kaleem Dent as well as a host of cousins and extended family. He will be missed but never forgotten as his spirit lives in our hearts eternally.
