Abdul - Malik Muhammad

Abdul-Malik Muhammad was born as Gregory Marcus Davis on January 4, 1960, In Newark, NJ, to the late Willie and Mazon Davis. He attended the Newark Public School systems and remained a resident of Newark until his passing on Friday, October 25, 2013. In 1986, he dedicated his life to Islam and made Hajj in 1996. He later became a junior Iman at Masjid Muhammad. Abdul-Malik loved Islam and was dedicated to the Umar family. He also taught Arabic classes in Newark. Abdul-Malik had a great sense of humor and was loved by many. He enjoyed telling jokes that were funny only because they were so corny. He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister. Born the tenth child of 17 children, Abdul-Malik leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Shafeqah Muhammad; his ex- wife, Hassanah Muhammad; 4 children, Rasjohn Waller, Ikim Maddox, Rasheed Waller and Mekkah Muhammad; 5 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Gary Davis, Daryl Davis, Ronald Davis, and Keith Davis; 4 sisters, Denise Davis, Gloria Davis, Sheila Jackson, and Shirley Smith; 3 brother in laws, Anthony Fowler, Michael Smith and Anthony Jackson; 3 sister in laws, Ruth Saffold, Michelle Davis, and Jacqueline Smith along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Abdul-Malik will be greatly missed but not at all forgotten. He was truly loved by all. Janazah Prayer will take place at 12:30pm at Masjid Rahman 657 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd , Newark, NJ 07102 .The family would like to thank all those who offered comfort, love and support during this time of bereavement. May Allah make his grave spacious and grant Abdul-Malik Ijana (Forever) Firdous. Ameen.
