Maurice Lenny Spady

Maurice Lenny Spady, “Ressey” left his earthly body peacefully in his sleep on June 7, 2018 at the age of 65. He was the son of the late Laura and Milton and he was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He was always ready to greet you with a big smile and a joke or two. He had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back if he had to. He loved to fish, swim, cook and have lots of fun with family and friends.  He enjoyed walking and loved the city of New York!

He will be missed by his wife, Kim, his daughter Laura D. Spady and stepdaughter Elyse, his grandchildren and siblings, Denise and Monica and a beloved Godbrother, Bobby and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.  Maurice “Ressey” was preceded in death by his Mother Laura, Father Milton, his son Maurice Jr., two brothers and two sisters.

I’m no longer by your side, but there’s no need to weep;

I’ve left sweet recollections, I’m hoping you would keep.

Eternal joy and memories stay in our hearts forever,

Strengthening our special bond that parting cannot sever.

Now it’s time to journey on, so let your faith be strong,

For I am in a better place…I’m home where I belong.

And if times of loneliness bring sorrow and dismay,

Don’t despair, for I am there…Just a Spirit Away
